❄️Happy Holidays❄️

As 2023 draws to a close, it's been a year of transformative processes for MiHIN!

We've been deeply engaged in future-proofing our tech with the launch of our new Integrated Technology Platform (ITP). This upgrade is designed to power robust data exchange, supporting patient-centered decision-making, care coordination, price transparency, quality, and compliance.

In Michigan, a groundbreaking bipartisan bill has paved the way for the Michigan Health Data Utility (HDU). We're putting in the work to ensure our shared infrastructure aligns seamlessly with national interoperability standards, catering to the diverse needs of Michigan stakeholders.

Excitingly, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) gave the green light to the first organizations as Qualified Health Information Networks (QHINs) under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA). In 2024, MiHIN will begin organizing a series of statewide TEFCA transition plan activities to help our participants understand how this emerging ecosystem will impact them and their patients.

We extend our sincere thanks to the network for the invaluable contribution of sharing health information. Your commitment to collaboration enhances the quality of care for all.

We look forward to working with you next year and every year after.

Have a wonderful holiday season, and a happy and healthy New Year!

Maintenance and Service Schedule

Every year, MiHIN closes for business between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. The MiHIN office will be closed December 25th, 2023 through January 2nd, 2024. During this time there are small teams monitoring the Help Desk ticketing system, phone lines, and interfaces. A maintenance production code and feature freeze will occur 12/22/23 through 1/2/24. During this time, MiHIN will not implement requests for changes or enhancements to our production environments.

An operational freeze will occur 12/22/23 through 1/2/24. During this time, no new users or organizations can be introduced to, trained, or added to existing use cases, services and/or tools.

  • ACRS files submitted through DSM or the legacy SFTP will not be validated and/or loaded. If you submit ACRS files via this method please make sure to submit your valid ACRS files before Wednesday, 12/21/22 for loading.
  • ACRS files submitted through the automated SFTP will continue to be validated and processed automatically.
  • The MIGateway File Submission module will remain operable for ACRS file submission.
  • If you are unsure which method your organization currently uses to submit ACRS files, please reach out the MiHIN Help Desk for assistance.

Technology Migration Updates

MiHIN is migrating, and upgrading, our full technical environment. We are consolidating and integrating all legacy technology and interface engines and thereby, optimizing and streamlining our processes.

Aspects of our existing system, including VIPR, Solution Center, and Inbox, will be completely phased out and replaced by 3/31/24 with solutions that, at their full functionality, will offer access to more network data and flexible/scalable capabilities.
