Originally this transition was to be completed by 3/29, however, we have now adjusted our timeline to 4/30. In a recent interview, Dr. Tim Pletcher discussed how MiHIN breaks down disparate and siloed data systems, using its digital infrastructure to provide critical and comprehensive patient information to the Michigan's network of care providers.
MiHIN has been awarded grants from the 2024 Going PRO Talent Fund program. The grants will fund training programs that will help employees develop the broad range of skills needed to move the health information technology industry forward.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), in partnership with the Health Information Technology Commission (HITC), has released its annual report summarizing major activities in 2023 and proposing six key recommendations for the commission in 2024.
MiHIN is adding FHIR-based infrastructure to its next-generation health information exchange platform to enable new and advance data-sharing use cases and analytics services. Enabling meaningful health data sharing hinges on open standards, freeing information from silos and fostering seamless integration between data and care.
The Center for Health and Research Transformation is currently piloting technical changes to Michigan's EMS records, alongside ongoing development for bidirectional data exchange with MiHIN. Additionally, they are working on building resources to translate EMS data, including social needs screening data.
