Each quarter VHIEC will host a webinar series, The Download, meant to inspire dialogue, educate, and share with our stakeholders around the larger topics, challenges, and opportunities that exist at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
On October 12, join us for The Download: TEFCA: Importance and Opportunities. Shreya Patel, Chief Privacy and Policy Officer, will be covering the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA). While we've presented on this topic before, we have always discussed released drafts and many questions had been unanswered.
This month's presentation will be different due to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) releasing the final version and supplemental documents. The health IT industry now has access to the legal Common Agreement, Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN) Technical Framework, Principles of Exchange, and various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Together these documents pave the way for national interoperability.
Shreya will discuss why TEFCA is important, how Velatura and its stakeholders will be affected, what you will need to do to prepare, and lastly, the opportunities that come with exchange.
